So today I was reminded how much I really want to coach when I finish college.  We have a new vicar at our church (a vicar is someone who is still in Seminary school (in Gettysburg, PA) and takes a year to learn and preach at a church...kinda like student teaching for education majors).  Anyways, he has a wife and three daughters who absolutely love to play softball.  The 3 girls are in 2nd, 5th, and 9th grade and are in the same school system I was in.  We had dinner with them tonight and they wanted to know all about the travel ball and recreational leagues here in Birmingham.  I had all the information for them so I was able to point them out to the best recreational league for the two youngest girls and the travel ball teams for the oldest one.  Joanna, the oldest, really wanted to find a travel team, but because of her bigger family and her dad's new role at our church, she needed a team that would stay in Birmingham during the fall but would play a more competitive schedule in the summer.  After I talked to her about what she could do, she asked me if I would help her workout as much as possible before she tried out with teams.  I am really excited for this opportunity and to see her placed on a good team where she will be happy and excel during her playing time. =)  Hope you all have a great weekend!!
